How has your business changed since becoming a Mr. Electric franchise owner?
Since I opened my franchise in 1997, I have grown from being the only employee to having a dozen staff in the field and three in the office. For example, we just opened Mr. Electric of Barrie and are working on aggressively growing our existing territory in York Region.

We are blessed to live and work in an area that is poised for success. The Mr. Electric system and support structure will help us with that.

Have there been any unexpected benefits of opening a Mr. Electric franchise?
I was surprised at how willing builders, property managers and restoration companies were to
use us to do their emergency work. We also serve as back-up for their existing electrical contractors who
are often burdened by smaller service capacity.

Our franchise has been able to build great brand name recognition in this area and the phones are definitely ringing as a result.

What would you say to independent electrical contractors looking to take their business to the next level?
I would encourage others to join the Mr. Electric team. The franchise family system offers terrific support. It is also great to know other electrical contractors whom you can call on for advice and encouragement regarding any of your day-to-day challenges.
