City of Waco Honors The Dwyer Group with Proclamation,
Recognizes Veteran's Day also as VetFran Day
WACO, Texas (Nov. 10, 2008) — The City of Waco has honored The Dwyer Group with a proclamation that will declare tomorrow, Nov. 11, 2008, as both Veteran’s Day and VetFran Day in the city.
The proclamation was given to The Dwyer Group for founding the VetFran program, an initiative that offers the best financial discounts and incentives to qualifying military veterans who wish to buy a franchise.
“Veteran’s Day is an important time to give thanks to the brave men and women who have served our country to protect our very freedom,” said Mike Bidwell, president and chief operating officer of The Dwyer Group. “And with this proclamation, we also recognize an incredible program that has rewarded them for that service by helping so many of them realize their dreams for business ownership.”
VetFran is now a nationwide program sponsored by the International Franchise Association that includes more than 360 franchisors across the United States who have followed The Dwyer Group’s lead.
More than 1,200 military veterans have purchased a franchise through VetFran. And the largest percentage of them has purchased a franchise from The Dwyer Group’s brands.
