Mr. Rooter Helps Consumers Conserve Energy with Tax Credits
WACO, Texas (Dec. 21, 2009) – Thanks to tax credits, Mr. Rooter Plumbing is helping consumers make their homes more energy efficient without it being a taxing problem on their pocketbooks.
“It’s a win-win situation for our customers,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter Corporation. “Consumers can conserve energy and save money by doing these upgrades.”
Some of the higher efficiency items included in the U.S. Economic Stimulus Plan are water heaters, central air conditioners, furnaces, boilers and air source heat pumps. Consumers get a tax credit of up to 30 percent of the total cost, which includes the product and installation, with a maximum credit of $1,500.
Mr. Rooter Plumbing technicians can install tankless water heaters, which only heat water when needed. For example, tanklesss water heaters provide heated water instantaneously when taking a shower. Once the water is turned off, the unit does not run.
“The energy savings are significant, because tankless water heaters only heat water on demand,” Thompson said. “Tankless water heaters are also a great way to conserve precious resources like water.”
Unlike traditional water heaters, tankless ones are small in size and can be installed on a wall.
Consumers should not fret if they don’t have the money for the improvements. They have until the end of 2010 to have the work done and claim the tax credit.
