Mr. Rooter® Plumbing’s Top 10 Recoveries of 2010

Waco, Texas (Jan. 4, 2011) – From recovering a $40,000 ring accidently flushed down the toilet to rescuing a 4-month-old kitten that fell behind a water heater, Mr. Rooter plumbers saved the day for numerous customers this past year.

But in 2010, Mr. Rooter plumbers added more than the typical jewelry and pets to their list of recoveries. They safely located and returned a ferret, tortoise and pet bobcat cage keys to their respectful owners.

“Our customers depend on us to go the extra mile to find their sentimental items,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter Corporation. “We’ve seen tears of joy and squeals of relief when our Mr. Rooter plumbers give back the lost items or animals our customers thought they would never see again.”

1. $40,000 ring accidently flushed down the toilet in Memphis, Tenn.
2. Kitten trapped in a wall in Mesa, Ariz.
3. Turtle in a hard-to-reach location under a house in Soquel, Calif.
4. Trapped 4-month-old kitten in Tallahassee, Fla.
5. Hours-old puppy at a humane society in Escondido, Calif.
6. Pet ferret lost in a drain pipe in Warren, Ohio.
7. Earring accidently dropped down the bathroom sink drain in Waterford, Wis.
8. Ring accidently dropped down the kitchen sink drain in Newberg, Ore.
9. Pet bobcat cage keys that ended up in a sewer line in Kennewick, Wash.
10. Bride’s diamond earring at a shower in Cadillac, Mich.  

If these weren’t enough to smile about, Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s last recovery in 2010 is. Two technicians at Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Mo-Kan recovered a man’s dentures that accidently ended up in the toilet on Dec. 31.

The bill for removing the toilet and flushing out the dentures with a garden hose was less expensive than ordering new ones. The dentist gave some excellent cleaning tips, so the dentures can be used again.
