RMHC Recognizes Mr. Rooter® at Its 2011 International Conference

Waco, Texas (Sept. 18, 2011) – Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) recognized Mr. Rooter Plumbing for its support at the 2011 RMHC International Conference. Since becoming a national sponsor in 2010, Mr. Rooter franchisees have donated more than $71,000 in in-kind donations.

The RMHC global system comes together every two years to rally around its common mission of creating, finding and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.

In addition to being recognized as a donor, Mr. Rooter Plumbing representatives showcased examples of their in-kind donations and involvement. As part of the national sponsorship, Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchises provide plumbing work for Ronald McDonald Houses across North America.

“It was exciting to see the wonderful work RMHC does around the world and to know we are a part of it,” said Mike Bidwell, president and COO of The Dwyer Group, Inc., parent company of Mr. Rooter Corporation. “A key message takeaway was the emphasis on providing the biggest currency of all when a child is sick – time. We are proud to be partnered with such a strong and meaningful organization.” 

Mr. Rooter Plumbing, along with its sister companies Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric and The Grounds Guys, have donated $200,000 to RMHC the past two years as a national sponsor.

RMHC was established in memory of McDonald's^® founder and franchise icon Ray Kroc in 1984. Their cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House^®, provides a “home-away-from-home” so families can stay close by while their child gets the health care they need.

The event took place Aug. 9-12 in Chicago, Ill.
