Mike Anderson, Aire Serv of South Denver
Family owned and operated is not just an advertising line for Mike Anderson and the Aire Serv of South Denver franchise. He left a corporate position to be near his family and built a start-up business where he could have them directly involved. Anderson “hit the ground running” and worked with Aire Serv to develop a successful business that is well organized and both customer and family oriented.
Why did you open an Aire Serv franchise?
I wanted to start my own business in Denver to be closer to my family after managing another HVAC company. A friend of mine owned a Mr. Rooter franchise and was very satisfied with The Dwyer Group, the parent company of Mr. Rooter, Aire Serv, and several other service businesses. My friend was impressed with their organized front-end customer service policies, the frontline service procedures, and the image portrayed.
Because of his positive experience, I began researching the Aire Serv organization and found them to be very professional and a complete package.
What are the benefits of working with the Aire Serv team?
One of the key benefits of being part of the Aire Serv franchise is the ability to speak with other owners and bounce ideas off of one another. It is great to have someone quickly identify solutions to problems that they have already worked through; it saves time and money. The franchise also holds meetings where we share our best practices and the lessons we’ve learned.
What impact has the Aire Serv brand had on your business?
In Denver there are two Aire Serv franchises – one is the “North” franchise, and I am the “South.” The North owner, Ken Avery, is great and we work very closely to assure the Aire Serv brand appears as one company with superior service. We share in advertising which reduces costs and allows us to advertise more.
Aire Serv also markets and advertises at the national level through the Internet and this has produced great leads. Customers see the national advertising and the corporate Web site as indicators of Aire Serv being a quality company with credibility.
What impact has the Aire Serv business systems had on your family life?
We represent Aire Serv of South Denver as being family owned and operated. My wife is the administrative assistant for the company, my daughter-in-law is the office manager and CSR/dispatcher and her father is our sales manager. Also, we recently brought in another member of the family who is in training to be a service technician.
